One of the many, many exciting things about Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther – which, by the way, is currently sitting at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes after the first blast of rhapsodic reviews hit yesterday – is the Kendrick Lamar-crafted soundtrack, which we first heard about last month (after some cleverly dropped hints). That official announcement was accompanied by the record’s first original song, a Kendrick/SZA collab called “All the Stars.”
And now there’s a video for that track – a gorgeously rendered (by Dave Meyers and the little homies) fusion of Afrofuturism, iconography, special effects, and, inevitably, black panthers. Check it out:
The soundtrack album drops this Friday, February 9; Black Panther hits theaters a week later, on February 16.
